ALIVE ARCHITECTURE_THE VOID THAT COMES ALIVE IN THE IMMATERIALITY OF THE ARCHITECTONIC SPACE //

The lack of interest in many historical buildings and ornaments around Dublin made me wonder how we as pedestrians ignore places around us and the history behind buildings and ornaments. How do we interact with the city and what do we consume with technology and our phones? Where does this cloud of information go? Is information a texture, an organism, is it alive?

My work is a combination of GIFS configured to be seen as alive textures in ornaments on facades.

Location: Mary’s Abbey, Smithfield, Dublin

about Oswaldo:

I get inspiration from different visual elements, including music and audio. Particularly noise and industrial music make a vast influence to test elements on my work and deconstructed figures, ornaments and structures. I find in chaos and deconstruction intricate concepts to develop, create and be playful with my work in different ways. My exploration and examination of the history of different ornaments and constructive systems expose the potential for the creation of new elements beyond the visual, I work with videos, CGI, embroidery, wood and currently testing with audio to develop different ideas.
